Mutiara SIS Al-Jufrie Airport- PLW
Operated by the Ministry of Transportation, Mutiara SIS Al-Jufrie Airport is a government-owned public airport found near the chartered city of Palu, Indonesia, Central Sulawesi’s capital city. It was previously known as Masovu Airport but was changed to its current name, which was derived from two words, “Mutiara,” meaning pearl and “SIS Al-Jufrie,” the abbreviation of SayyidIdrus bin Salim Al-Jufri, an Indonesian National Hero native to the province. The airport is internationally recognized by its IATA code of PLW, ICAO code of WAFF, and WMO code of 97072.

PWL-Mutiara SIS Al-Jufrie Airport features a single asphalt-paved runway with a length of 2,500 meters and a width of 45 meters. It can currently accommodate wide-body aircraft operations, such as the Airbus A330 and the Boeing 747. There is one terminal in the airport, which opened in April 2017 in time for the 50th-anniversary celebration of the province of Central Sulawesi. The terminal is capable of handling 800 passengers daily. The seven airlines serving the airport connects it to various regional and international airports in Indonesia. One of the best places to visit from PLW is the city of Palu, which is known as an Indonesian Navy base and the home of the beautiful Palu Bay.
